Identify mark and age - Chinese? Japanese?

Postby Eclectic1 » Tue May 03, 2011 2:57 am

Can someone help me identify a pair of salt dishes I've had for quite a while? They seem to be sterling or higher (although unmarked as to content), but have aesthetic qualities I associate with Chinese or Japanese silver. They are 3.8 cm. wide and 3.4 cm. high, hexagonal with applied flowers or leaves and minor engraving to complement the leaves. I've searched the forum and other sites trying to find the mark, and I'm hoping someone can tell me more about what I have. Any help will be appreciated!ImageImage

Hello, the decoration is in Chinese style. The ideogram is a Chinese character. I will get back to you once I find some useful information about the SC mark.
