Hello! I bought this for my father-in-law for Christmas and I would so much like to be able to let him know at least where this might be from. The lettering looks Chinese. I am guessing the silver 950 means it is sterling? Thanks so much for your attempts! God bless - kwalleye
I can add very little except to say that your item is likely to be Japanese. They often use the odd expression '950-Sterling' which is something of a misnomer as Sterling = 925/1000, so your item is better than Sterling.
Hello Trev - Thank you very much for your response. At least I have a morsel to tell my father-in-law when I give him his Christmas gift. God bless! Karen
P. S. If you come up with anything else, I check back frequently. Thanks and Merry Christmas!
I posted your marks on another board where they have a few people who can read Chinese and Japanese. I requested help reading Japanese marks. Here is the response I got: Last mark stands for "pure silver". Marks on your middle picture read "North sea electric company".
Hi Pat - Thank you so much! I really appreciate the effort you put forth to get me this information. Every little bit helps! God bless you and Merry christmas!
