Help with Sterling belt

Help with Sterling belt

This is a belt I inherited from a well to do aunt. The only marks I can find are "sterling" and "C" (see pics)
Any help/info is GREATLY appreciated!

I doubt it is Native American, most items like this are Asian.

That's a shame, because she purchased this in New Mexico from a supposed reputable seller at a high-end resort.

exposés of complete shops in the southwest full of bogus items have been shown on national tv shows.
