Hallmark Help Antique China Whiskey Tot Holder

Thank you for this great web site! We have several of these tot cup holders that belonged to my grandfather who was one of the first commercial attache' sent to China in 1902. We would appreciate any information on the maker. There are two patterns with some marked with Chinese characters and some marked with the word Sterling and a somewhat oval hallmark. Thanks in advance for your kindness.
