I have recently added a silver dish to my collection which I just can't really place time and location wise. It's a silver charger, with a handengraved motive on it. It also bears a marking of MB and a crown, however the B is in a right angle of the M, kind of suggesting that the maker maybe did not fully comprehend the western alphabet. The dish is also marked with a dutch Z1 mark (for foreign goods of at least sterling standard). The underside is also marked with an old scratch mark for testing silver (see picture three). Apart from that the underside is also pretty coarse, not well finished, suggesting to me that this might be a pre yogya Indonesian piece. does anybody know the mark, or can help me any further concerning the date or origin of this piece?
thanks in advcance.
