Large serving spoon - Unusual marks Old coin?

Postby pauline5555 » Tue Oct 14, 2008 6:25 pm

Another large serving spoon I just acquired. It is quite heavy and about 9" long. Not sure of origin. Thought maybe it was American, but I don't know. Maybe I will come to find it is not even silver. The hallmarks are a little strange. It looks like reading from right to left, a lion, KHG or KHC, a large head with a crown, and a profile head that looks almost like a court jester.

Any help would be great. Thanks a lot.

I seem to remember this is a Chinese export maker, but I don't have the reference to verify it.

Can't believe it. I am always scouring the website and it never occured to me to look in Chinese export. I just got it with a bunch of other old coin so I didn't expect it. Thanks so much. That is great.
