Mystery Maker's Mark on Candlesticks

Postby NDL » Sun Jun 29, 2008 6:14 pm

I have a pair of candlesticks with a maker's mark that I have laboriously tried to identify - and without success.
The candlesticks are in sterling silver, weigthed, have removable tops, and stand about 13 7/8" high. The mark on the base reads: C.J.Co. and some characters that I believe Japanese (see photo).
Hopefully someone here will be able to help.

Hello and welcome.

Your candlesticks are Chinese export silver.
Don't know who C.J.Co. is, but they were in business roughly from 1875 to 1930.

I feel a little silly since I reviewed that page and never caught the initials. Thanks a million. NDL
