What is this?

Hello All,

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me anything about this box which I believe to be silver. I dont know where it is from or what it was used for and what it says on the bottom which has been applied with a punch. Anyone have any ideas?

It is most probably an indian container for red powder used for social and religious markings in Hinduism (dabbi or kumkum dabbi).
The writing on the bottom is probably the name of the owner
I'm not 100% sure, but maybe someone can confirm.

The writing on the bottom looks like Thai. Someone who reads Thai should be able to confirm and provide a translation.

I do not know how anyone can guess the intended use of this item without either seeing it or knowing its dimensions.
