Hallmark Identification

Postby fretrocker » Thu Jun 26, 2014 9:09 pm

Hello everyone,
I am new to this, so please bear with me. I am looking for any information on the Hallmark on the bottom of egg shaped Silver salt & pepper shakers. I have never seen one like this before and do not have any idea what country it represents. Were thinking it's far east but not sure. Any help identifying it will be greatly appreciated. I took 4 different views of it because we don't know which side is up..... LOL!
Thank you
Fretrocker (John)

Welcome to the Forum.

I believe that is a Persian / Iranian "84" mark, see the World Marks page:

http://www.925-1000.com/foreign_marks2.html

Once the post is moved to Middle East marks, someone else may be able to make out the maker's mark.

Regards,

DR

Just an FYI image #6 is right side up, you might want to try to embed it by using the IMG code above so that other does not have to walk through all of this images. Enlarge and crop for better viewing.

And yes David is right it's Persian.
