Iranian silver maker mark question

Postby keneen » Wed Jul 04, 2012 9:23 am

Hello Forum members,
I have a small silver urn or pot I'd like to know more about. I've been able to determine that one of the Arabic marks on the bottom indicates the silver content. The other marks, however, remain a mystery to me.
Is anyone able to offer any additional information about the piece (aproximate era, silversmith, shop mark, etc.)? I'd be grateful for any assistance. Thanks so much!

Hello,
Your piece is the work of Isfahan, a city in Iran which is written on it as well as the silver content, the number 84 and the name of the maker "Kar Umran". This could possible be around 70 years old.

Regards
