Lebanese(?) Silver Box

Postby Danny G » Mon Dec 05, 2011 7:53 pm

I found a silver box in my grandmother's apartment with a hallmark written in what looks like Arabic. She says it's from Lebanon from around World War I.

This is the hallmark:

There are other pictures of the box in the photostream.

I'm trying to figure out what the Arabic hallmark says. If you have any other information about the box, that would also be great appreciated.

Hello,

This piece looks molre Isfahani from Iran. It has the Arabic numerals 84 and the name of the maker which is unclear. This workmanship is Iranian.

Hello,
Here's some more information. The name of the maker is Jawad. This was made during the reign of the last Shah, 40's, 50's. 60's, not before that. This is an Iranian piece.

Regards
