Egyptian silver bracelet

Postby vq2bc » Sat Apr 23, 2011 4:20 pm

Hello,
Looking for information on this silver bracelet. found on a beach in Mozambique in the 1970s.
The bracelet has open ends.
I believe the cat figure in centre box pre-dates before 1946. I think the Assay city maybe Alexandria in left box.
Not sure what date letter is in right box?

Hello Hada,

Apologies for late reply, have been away on business.

Thank you very much for your reply to my enquiry and the information you have given.

Have you any ideas about the date of the bracelet/bangle?

Kind regards,

Peter UK

Hello

I know this is a very old post but I was wondering if you had any information on the hallmarks on your bracelet? Specifically the first mark or the one that stands alone at the top of the bracelet. I have two pieces that bear the same mark. I believe the mark refers to the purity but that's as far as my research has lead me. If you have more information on Egyptian hallmarks in general I would love the information! Thank you for your time and I hope to hear a response.

Hi.
The left hand hand mark is the combined assay office town and quality mark.
The upper symbol is the Assay office, which, as far as I can tell from the two images shown
appears to be Alexandria while the lower symbol is the quality mark for 800/1000 silver.

Hi,

Could the mark on the left which look like an i be an Egyptian date mark for 1940-1941
See Ben's post Egyptian date letters;
