Mexico-Sterling Earrings 1920's hallmark FMB - Who is FMB?

Postby cj954 » Sun Jul 29, 2007 12:47 am

I inherited these earrings from my aunt but have been unable to find any info on the FMB maker's mark. Also I'm curious as to what the green stones are? Above the FMB it looks like it says IGUAL, then some kind of letter or symbol that sort of looks like A of 9 folowed by 925.
Under the FMB it appears to say HECHO EN MEX.
Under the hallmark it says STERLING and MEXICO

That would be the city of Iguala, in the state of Guerrero, Mexico.
I believe the initials were meant to be EMB.
Sorry, my books don't identify who used that mark.

Pat.
