Hi, I am new to this site & will try my best to do it right.
I recently aquired this very large (6-3/4" dia. by 2-1/2" tall) silver Sombrero which is stamped 925 with the Eagle #52 assay mark & cannot find who this mark may have been registered to. Any information would be appreciated.

The style of the eagle mark dates the piece to roughly 1955-1980.
The number 52 eagle mark was used by Plateria Alejo. A Plateria is a shop authorized to sell silver.
Not sure who made the piece.
Here's a picture of a slightly smaller sombrero sold by them.

Hi Pat,

Thanks for the information.
Had a feeling it was a shop & not an individual.

This one is large enough to have been used for an ashtray, but to nice to do that.

Think I am going to have to get that book on Mexico Silver Marks.

Thanks again
Cliff
