Does this look Mexican?

I'm not very familiar with Mexican silver. The reason I'm thinking this might be Mexican is because the owner had quite an extensive collection of Mexican pottery. I'm assuming they traveled to Mexico to build their huge pottery collection....liked Mexican things, etc. Maybe they got this piece on one of their trips. Maybe I'm way off and somebody here will have some information! I see no markings on it. There is some plate loss, but it's still very pretty. Curious about age, in addition to origin. Thanks.
