Hi Everybody! My First Post and hopefully can Help me get this Mexican Silversmith Hallmark Identified and any other Information would be great! Antique small Wood and Silver Hand Mirror with fancy raised embossed Designs I am confident is from a Mexican Silver Smith. The Hallmark is in the shape of a Diamond which has two Initials H.H. in the middle, (see pictures). Also stamped 925. Thank You for any help I can get! Sincerely, Gary K

Are you certain that is not "915" (for .915) which was used later in Spain?

Hi! I went and looked again and it definitely says 925. Do you have a good guess as to the Maker? Thanks for your response! Gary K

Unfortunately Mexican smiths are needles in haystacks for identifications. But first, rest your eyes and re-focus on the maker mark. Ignore what appears to be an incuse HH and notice that it may be formed as an intaglio of three letters beginning with a stylized "C" and perhaps ending with an "S". What I spotted this way appears to be "CIS" for the initials. Of course images are tougher than the naked eye upon the object. Do you see this now?

Your right that it might not be H.H. but I don't see CIS either. All I was hoping for was to see if it was a well known Artist but it is looking more like what you said - just one of a million unknown Mexican Silver marks. Thanks for your help though! Gary K
