Hello. This is my first time on this site. First post as well. I have a 1950's to 1970's Mexican Taxco sterling silver necklace representing what I have researched to be known as a Yalalag Cross. Do you have any information for me as to the history, backstory, and maybe the age of this piece? Is this the original clasp and chain? It has the eagle 3 mark and the sterling silver grading with the initials CET. Check out the picture and let me know. I thank you kindly.

Unfortunately, both type-1 (defined) and type-2 (silhoutte/shadow) "Eagle 3" marks are common and generic for Taxco with many maker's initials. To be brutually honest, there is currently small chance of actual identification if it does not surface with the search function and "it ain't listed here": https://www.925-1000.com/mexican_marks.html

Thank you for that. I think I've found just about as much info as I could on this item, and it all came from this site.

You're welcome. Many of us all paddling this same boat without oars on the Rio Grande hoping someone on the southern bank may toss out a life preserver one day.
