"Poison" ring? - Eagle 3 - primary hallmark "

I'm not certain exactly what this ring is for, but I know it was acquired between 1953-59. The amethyst has a piece of the geode left on it.

Any thoughts?

It looks like eagle with a 3, which is Taxco, I cant read the letters, new pic would help. tbrain48
