Help with unknown frame maker marked "925" and "MV"

I recently acquired this frame marked "925" and "MV." I am guessing the piece is Mexican but please correct me if I'm wrong. Hoping someone here might know the artist.

In my limited experience I do not believe that this is Mexican. Have noticed a certain similarity in the floral pattern with the bowl you posted in European silver that Oel has identified as Portuguese. Please look for other marks then let's see what others have to say.

Thank you for post. I didn't notice any other marks on the piece but I'll look over it again.
