925 earrings?

Postby longjohn » Mon Sep 20, 2010 4:17 pm

Hi,

Can anyone identify the markings on these earrings please? The markings look to me like "YN 179 Mexico 0925".
Does anyone know what they mean? Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers

It's probably TN-179 which means they were made in Taxco by an artist with the family name starting with an N who was the 179th N to register their mark. They were made anytime between 1979 and now.
Almost all "T" marks are of unknown artisans, mostly people who do piece work for wholesalers.
