Re: Help needed with marks on spectacles
Thank you both very much for the information. So these were made in Paris and subsequently imported to Rome and marked there?

Hi
Does anyone know the origin of these marks? They were difficult to photograph as they are so small.
Many Thanks

Sugar Tongs Marks
Hi
I was hoping someone may recognise the marks on this pair of sugar tongs with a maker's mark W&B. I am thinking possibly Chinese or American, any help greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks

Re: Help with hallmarks
These marks are possibly those of Joseph Wolstenholme, if so he started producing silver plate from 1850 up until some time in the 1860s.

Maker of 1754 Spoon
Hi This tablespoon is hallmarked for London 1754, unfortunately the makers mark is distorted, probably by a damaged punch or perhaps from work on the stem after the mark was struck. Its a bit of a long shot but I was hoping there might be something that someone may be able to pick up on that could p...

Silver Cup Mark
Hi
This small silver cup has just one mark which is on the base. I can't really make much of it, it may be initials or something else, does anybody recognise it?
Many Thanks

Sauce Ladle With Maker's Mark Only
Hi
I have this fiddle pattern sauce ladle, which is of a substantial gauge of silver and is marked with a maker's name H.N.D only.
Does anybody have any ideas on it's origin please?
Many Thanks

Re: Spoons with strange names
You also have-
Making Spoon - sort of a long teaspoon, used to stir the leaves whilst in the teapot.
Scruple Spoon - used to add a small amount of holy water into the Communion wine.
There are probably many others.

Snuff Spoon Maker
Hi
I am assuming this snuff spoon is a London piece but I could be wrong. Only the makers mark has remained visible, can anybody recognise who it may be?
Many Thanks

I think it might be a punch bowl cup, they would latch on around the punch bowl rim.

Hi
I have this silver and enamel cigarette case that I initially thought was Austrian. After searching I can't seem to find a match, can someone point me in the right direction?
Many Thanks
