Hello, Am i right to presume this pair of tongs were made between 1786 and 1792 ? It would be great If someone can narrow the date of make. British silver plate is marked EPNS, which means electroplate nickel silver .

Hi Trev, No wonder i couldn't find the makers mark.I was looking at the Sheffield Assay Office ... They put there Makers' Marks at the London Assay Office . The tongs are hallmarked for Sheffield, but they put the makers mark at the London assay office? Was that a common thing to do ? greetings, Alain
