Having had a look at the site - I cannot find a similar mark (apologies if I have missed it). Please could someone tell me when ...

Nevertheless the crown is quite worn and on the other names the crowns do differ so it could be any of the thr...

Thank you JLDoggett for your prompt response. I have had another look at the spoon again, but it is very worn. Out of the crown/coronet options the Duke does seem most likely as there are definately no balls of any sort - and if anything the crown looks like it might have leaves. Also forgot to ment...

Hello again Another crest to decipher, A Silver Gilt Sugar sifter from 1811, No town mark so presumed London, Makers mark HS over GS - Mary and Elizabeth Sumner (George III duty mark). The crest is very clear, showing a horses head in ramparts with some sort of crown around its neck. Its a splendid ...

Teaspoon 1795 - GS over WF - Deer on crown motif?
Hello again 2nd Post on the forum! I know this one probably is only good for scrap and not overly exciting but the crest might make it a little more interesting? No town mark so assumed London 1795 (Duty mark George III) GS over WF for George Smith III and William Fearn. Apologies it is quite worn. ...

Silver Lamp - EHS London 1877 - Crowned Deer?
Good eve, am new to the forum and have been browsing with interest. I have a silver oil lamp, made by E H Stockwell hallmarked London 1877. It has a crest of what looks like a crowned deer, someone suggested that this might have some sort of royal connection to Devon/Devonshire - however that I am n...
