Re: I Need Help Indentifying Hallmark on my Silver Salt Shak
Could be several different makers hard to tell by the picture. Definitely looks to be a mostly deplated low quality silver plated item.

Marks on "French" strainer
I know the pictures are poor but the marks are microscopic and worn. The first picture appears to be the makers mark star N.V. star. The next mark is what appears to be a Minerva (800 grade). It is hard to tell for sure bought it has a counter strike (picture 3). Interested if anyone might know the ...

Try to take a clear close up picture of the marks. What you have provided so far are not sufficient.

Re: Tiffany mark mystery-- Help appreciated
Interesting. You have a pattern from approximately 1872-1873, you have makers marks that not used until at least 1943, which could be possible. But the director's mark of an A...that seems impossible, as that is an unknown mark, also an unknown makers mark for that period. Looks highly suspicious.

Re: your assistance please
So there is no maker mark, no retailer mark? What makes you think it is coin silver...is there monograms or date inscribed on the item? I don't think the numbers in your pictures refer the year of manufacture. The pictures are not that clear but my guess is silver plate, 1960s.

Or they had that part of the watch assayed in Birmingham, as there mark was registered there as well.

Re: Unidentified tea set
It could be sterling, but it could also be just marked sterling. Interesting that it took 5 or 6 attempts to get the stamp set to mark it sterling...never really seen that on actual sterling. In addition nothing about it says anything outstanding and it has a look of silver plated white metal.

Re: Help with Chinese item? What is it?
I no longer have the item in my position but it is about 12" long, by 2.5" wide, by about 2" tall. Definitely never had legs or anything as such. Pure and clean bottom. It was designed to burn incense in a substrate. My father in law knew what it was right when he saw it.

Look at Unger Brothers. Your picture is not that sharp but based on the picture that is my guess.

The lion is the sterling mark, it is the official government sterling purity mark for England.

Re: silver bangle?
Your picture is not that clear but it looks like a left facing lion(sterling), leopards head (London), and the date letter V (1995). The maker mark is IMD or LMD.

Re: Country of origin and what is it?
I had assumed it was silver plate, but it does not test silver. The back side is actually entirely silver in color but it has brush stokes on it as if it were painted. The front side edges also have what appear to be brush strokes but that might be sloppy painting from the backside. I took another c...

Re: Country of origin and what is it?
Thanks for input. It is quite interesting, the men in central image are mostly huddled around one man who is lying on bed or cot. One is fanning him, one appears to be holding bowl of water, another is appears to be doing something to him with his hands. Next to him is a small table with bowls and m...

Country of origin and what is it?
Hello, I found this giant silver plated copper item. It had been displayed as a wall hanging but I'm not sure that was its original purpose. It is very big, 46 inches long and 35 inches tall, weighs 21 pounds. The item has some high relief repousse work along with very detailed chasing. It appears t...

Re: Help me please, need to find who maker is ASAP!
Your picture is not very clear at all. It looks like it could be British, with a mark of G&H, followed by a lion passant, unclear city mark, unclear date mark. You need to post a better picture, set your camera to macro function and put a loope over the lens and take a good close up of the marks.

Help with date mark...
I just picked this item up...the marks are really quite rubbed and hard to make out. The item appears to be quite old but I'm at a loss to try to date it. Any help?
