Hi!
The maker is Г.Р, also an unknown master, known to make stopki's (vodka beakers). Here is another mark of his:

ГИМ, ГОП, etc
Hi Dad, Could you give the translation to the following abreviations in the Postnikova if you know them. I guess that these are at least some Russian museums but I would like to know which ones: - ГИМ - ГОП - ÑРО - MK - ПОКМ - ÐГМ - ТОКМ - МГР- ВОКМ - ГОКМ - ГПМ - ...

Re: London mark
Thanks Trev, Always excellent knowledge from you. I got interested in this 'missing Largeworkers Register of 1758-1773'. So do I understand that all the largeworkers from that period are missing (if not found any other way). So it is not any register of some special largeworkers of that time. Regard...

Hi!
I was wondering if I have interpreted the year right. I think it would be London 1765-66, am I right. If so is the maker then known?

Juke

Re: Faberge(?) Desk article
Hi! Well these are typical on the market, it is always difficult to say exactly when they have been made/marked but first half of 20th century is a good guess for this item. On this item it seems that it might have been overmarked (at least on your picture the name Fabergé looks that it could be an...

Re: Faberge(?) Desk article
Hi!
Well, you guessed right, no Fabergé. It is no use trying to find a real Fabergé if you are not willing to pay for it. Otherwise it ends up that you don't get a real one.

Juke

Re: Faberge?
Hi!
This is one more example of a marking that is not authentic Fabergé, we have seen these on this forum. None of the marks look correct, the cigarette case is most probably from early 20th century from a northern European country (but not Russia).

Juke

Hi!
I get your point Postnikov and you have facts for your point, one would need to have access to the royalties and later nobilities vaults in Russia and other countries to see how the very high quality items they have are marked.

Juke

Re: Firm of Sazikov
Hi! It is good to remember that after the International Exposition in London in 1851 Sazikov became very famous throughout Europe (on the same level as the best firms in the west) and was the first Russian firm began to receive orders from foreign countries. Maybe this export idea is possible ... bu...

Re: Firm of Sazikov
Hi! Unfortunately I have not seen the tea/coffee set so there was a missunderstanding. We are all dependent on this one picture, therefore I guess we don't get any further than this as it is difficult to make any futher conclusions. I am happy with the discussions, even that there are sometimes diff...

Re: Firm of Sazikov
Hi! There are two different questions here so lets not mix them up, the existens of the profile of Victoria and Albert mark and the different questions of autheticity of different Sazikov marks. My main objective with what I wrote was to ensure if Sazikov used this profile of Victoria and Albert mar...

Re: Firm of Sazikov
Hi! I found some more information regarding Sazikov and the International Exposition in London in 1851. The First Grade Medal received by Sazikov (mentioned previously in a text) is mentioned in another book to be actually the Grand Gold Medal. I believe this enlights that it is convincing that the ...

Hi!
Yes it is genuine and everything as you indicated. Here we have one more example where the shovel shaped mark is used even that the object itself likely is some over the 8,5 g limit.

Juke

Re: Firm of Sazikov
Hi! I agree that the quality on the cup showed by Ivan is not what one would expect from Sazikov so it is a question mark. Unfortunately it don't answear if the double monarch mark was used by Sazikov meaning if all items with this mark would be fakes. I was also more refering to the other items I h...

Re: Firm of Sazikov
Hi! I can tell that I have seen the profile of Victoria and Albert mark on three different Sazikov items during the last year. 1) A very high quality tea set with tray etc, sold in a Swedish auction (the mark which oel showed) 2) A quality tray, sold last year in a Finnish auction 3) A set of salts,...
