Charles Hougham sugar tongs : help with date
Hello, Am i right to presume this pair of tongs were made between 1786 and 1792 ? It would be great If someone can narrow the date of make. They are rather unusual with the marks in the bowls and the engraving was made so hard, it shows on the inside of the tongs.(please see pic.) Thank you, Alain h...

Hi Trev, No wonder i couldn't find the makers mark.I was looking at the Sheffield Assay Office ... They put there Makers' Marks at the London Assay Office . The tongs are hallmarked for Sheffield, but they put the makers mark at the London assay office? Was that a common thing to do ? greetings, Alain

Can someone help me with this Hallmark and country of origine of these .800 silver sugar tongs?
