From the floral elements on the bowl it appears to be Persian. 600/1000 does not seem impossible either but let me see what if anything I can find out about either marks.

Good Day, Lovely workmanship on your Persian box. The image shows some interesting aging in some areas of the under surface. Do not speak Farsi or Persian myself but do have a number of Muslim friends who speak several different languages, let's see if one of them can lead you in the right direction...

Appear to be Persian numerals but what makes this more confusing is that I have been told by Turkish friends that the Ottoman's used three different scripts in the administration of their empire.

Well I just researched another Malay object from Kelantan. Have a question in to admin on the silver content. Jawi script is a Malayasian variation on Arabic, the design here appears to be Hindu. Ubaranda, In my limited experience I do believe that 84 what your looking at, just a variation on the form. The presentation and motif on the cup appear to be Persian. Do remember that Farsi and Arabic like Hebrew are read right to left. in this case they seem to be following the Russian model of le...
