Re: Determine KA initials on German Silverware
Hello, this is a run-of-the-mill monogram which does not give away anything. Beware of fake provenance reports concerning alleged nazi stuff. If there were bunkers a Carinhall to be looted they were looted by German locals after the destruction of Carinhall by German soldiers and later by Russian tr...

Hello, believe that Germany certainly is a possibility. Shape of the spoon, placing of the mark - this could fit. Does Apolda not have a city mark like that ? Let us wait for Theo to see this. Regards, Bahner

Hello, why exclude more recent masters ? Reinhold Vasters (also a brilliant forger), Richard Garten, Alexander Schönauer, Adolf v. Mayrhofer, Josef Wilm, Robert Fischer, Werner Bünck, Ulla Mayer - to name just a few... Regards, Bahner

Re: help find the maker of this 1839 German sugar Box
Hello, without any engraving that links this to Jewish ritual it is mere wishful thinking. If this is German then Sterling is out of the question, as this was almost unheard of in Germany at this time. I am not sure there are no marks. What about these scratch-like markings left and right of the eng...

Hello, believe this reads W. Geiseler / Stettin and L. Wolff. The 1866 directory of Pommern (the Pomerania region of Germany) lists a L. Wolff as gold- and silversmith in Stettin. Regards, Bahner

Re: Danish Platter - Heimburger 830
Hello, would agree that this indicates 830/1000 fine. As to Heimbuerger- he might just be the retailer of this piece and GR the actual maker. No clue, though a German maker might be possible (just a gut feeling). Regards, Bahner

Hello, the pic of the mark is not really helpful. And why is it exactly that a better image is not possible ? After all this seems to be presented by a gallery. Even for us it is hard to work miracles... My guess: Moritz Hacker. Regards, Bahner

Hello, it has been discussed on this forum. Not Robbe, but a quite modern Hanau maker. Forgot which one, but J. Gehrlein can provide the answer. Regards, Bahner
