Re: Holy water pourer?

Good day Amena, Yes I would say Tibet or Nepal, possibly Buddhist. Let me ask is there anything along the rim near the handle that indicates there once was a lid? Was looking at other examples that were more bulbis or elongated, most were jade or jadeite. That low shallow bowl reminded me of some of...

Re: islamic mark ( deer) need help

Good morning Simon,

Worth a bump is a phrase used here to push the thread back to the top where others hopefully who are capable of in this case translating the text to help identify what we are looking at.

Good luck!

Yes either Arabic or Farsi (Persian). Worth a bump. See if one of other members can translate it for you.

Need to roll the last two images over, they are upside down. Most likely Arabic.

Hope this helps.

Re: Spoon identification - Gundelach 12

Good day, Here is what I came up with on your serving spoon. A ladle online with a similar finale was described as bearing a 12 Loth number and an attribution to Johann Friedrich Gundelach 1820 Braunschweig, Germany. Marks not shown. The loth number 12 gives you a silver content 750 parts silver. It...

Re: Thoughts on pap boat maker.

Hello Martin,

I was about to say Thomas Tookey, third mark of four listed on silvermakersmarksuk appears close but the cartouche seems slightly wrong. Let's see what others have to say.

Thank you Mitch,

Even though we can not clearly see the top of the letter on the left, from the base to the top the letter appears to expand. Let's see what others have to say on this mark.

Re: 1913 Nielsen pattern?

Good evening Sue, Yes Trev is correct that you get a much better response when you embed your images. I am not familiar with patterns but lets see if I can assist you with the hallmarks. Starting from the top: three tower Copenhagen mark 1913 that guarantees a silver purity minimum of 826/1000. Mark...

Re: Fork with "veuve"-hallmarked?

A simple comment. Look at the shape and length of each fork tang. Would that considered common on four tang forks of this period? Had never noticed that detail before.

Hello Mitch,

Not one of the experts but it appears to read T pellet G. May we see a close ups of both marks.

Thanks

Re: 4 Pictorial Marks on Coin Silver Spoon

Holybull, Would you be able to give us some information of where your grandmother and her family were from. May be a lead there that can be used. It is not unusual for Danish provinical silversmiths for example to place two, three, or even four makers marks on their work. Although the first three bi...

Yes it was a shot in the dark.

AG any thoughts on the makers mark but first off would you agree that it is German?

Re: German spoon with unknown maker's marks

Good evening,

Of the three post 1886 German silversmiths listed here, only three have anchors. A. Truxa & Co. of Berlin (c 1905 - c 1930) seems to be the closest. Is it at all possible that the rooster is a retailer's mark?

Hope this helps Silverfan

Good day, Have been trying to identify this mark on the left without success until I just spotted something that looked similar on Theo's site, an image marked: Pforzheim 1840 Fredrich Haus. Looking up a general history of Pforzheim Germany shows a two sided shield with three bars on the right then ...

Re: Not Fabritius guardein but Frigast makers mark

Thank you hose for this short post. Had recently spotted an example online which made no sense to me since Fabritius' and Siggaard's working periods as assay masters were over a hundred years apart. Also observed that you had posted an example in your Danish Date Marsk Project for 1930. Now it makes...
