i have similar pattern bought in Norway - so i would say there.
The danish Empire differs a bit from this.
Northern Germany is also a possibility.
But pattern is a variation of the pattern empire.

Re: twice the B.P mark
everything looks scandinavian - BP is not in registre of Denmark, but only half of the Danish mark are listed. Rest unknown so.
However something regarding pattern say Norway to me (i have not checked the norweigian registre) but from what I see, I would say Norway. late 1800dreds.

Re: Help with identification of coffee pot
I understand you confusion Its because the marks are false. Here you see 2 of the marks. Month and maker. They are acompanied by a Van Haven guardein mark. Month mark is the same.
The item from the book is proberly not danish.

Re: Unidentified spoon- possible purity mark and maker
the marks are not typical for any of the scandinatian countries. 12 is a typical mark for germany and pressent poland. The zig zag stripe is not used in denmark or normay. They used a set of needles for the purity. In sweden the zig zag could excist but its rare. pattern spartel is also typpical for...

Re: The idtntification of old snuff box
From Denmark home of hovedvandsæg.
The liquid was calle hovedvand and included spices and very much (salmiakspiritus) household ammonia.
Could be eau de cologne but the main content was salmiakspiritus
And the small room at the bottom - it is for the coin.

You are not wrong, but in many cities no guardein, so they could react by using the Copenhagen guardein for testing.AG2012 wrote:Was it 1893 when three towers became national mark ? Or I am wrong.

Re: Сup
the Hinnerup mark is very worn. When it was new the name Hinnerup stood with small letters inside guardein mark.
A tiny part of mark 3 is visible. only a corner.

Copenhagen might not be the case. The 3 towers was used all over Denmark.AG2012 wrote:3 tårne 1843 (three towers was town mark of Copenhagen) year 1843.
Show us all marks, as suggested by Trev,so we could identify the maker.
Regards
Agree there is a missing mark

thanks yes I know. Its the structure of the mark. In the nordic tradition these thin normally represendt silverplated. Thats why they where mistaken for plate - and I got a bargain, because i could see. But the seller would be green of envy if I told and specially if I told that i new at time of pur...

David Andersen vase
Small but elegant.
The hallmark is very simiilar to one of silverplated. I am surpriced that such a prominent maker dit not make a better hallmark.
However any idea of age?

Italy is home of these 2 vases. Made in Milan for the Palace hotel in St. Mourits. I see Elizabeth Tailor and Richard Burton or other celebrities in the 50ties sitting at the restaurant - the image is the glamor of the hotel. Wonder how many they commisioned? and are my vases stolen or bought at an ...

Re: Bird applique
Arround 1900 onwards, in Denmark and Norway, shields was fashion. You had a silver shield in your overcoat - so you where sure to get your coat back again. The correct one. These shields had initials engraved.
My guess would be that this bird had a similar function.
