The Rafael GVE mark is mentioned in the hallmark book but with no futher info. It's a locket ball, each section holds a photo.

Re: Need help with mark - bird's head inside a horseshoe
Every time I have found a piece with that mark the sterling mark has been false. There are multiple designs that are routinely falsely marked to fool tourists and this is one of them. :( The bird head seems to be a Mexican origin mark that isn't used on silver, the bird for silver is a full body eag...

Re: Unknown Marking on Aquamarine-stone silver ring
It's 925 and FAS. From what I've seen FAS is a foreign manufacturer, they did a lot of sterling jewelry with blue topaz, amethyst, citrine, garnet, peridot and the like in the 80s-90s. It could be a light blue topaz rather than aqua. The white stones are likely CZ or possibly white sapphire but they...

Re: Help Identifying A Maker
Can't see the mark clear enough to make out anything. The piece is shown upside down, looks like cactus.
BTW, your picture link tried to download something on my PC, not a safe link.

Did you miss the posts that showed the mark was a manufacturer so it can't be Native American??

Re: Navajo Sterling Hallmark Help
It looks like D. Gordon. There is a Delbert Gordon, tribal affiliation unknown, in the Barton Wright book who uses a handwriting signature but it's a bit different from this one. The D and G are very different.

Re: Need help with ID on Turquoise Ring
Most of what they sold was factory made then assembled by workers, some of who may have been Native American. I've seen that design for sale numerous times so seems to be mass produced.

Re: Help with Mexican Hallmarks, Los Castillo??
I see Taxco 925 Mexico around ADH? There is nothing for eagle 151 in the hallmark book.
I can see where you see maybe a Los something but this doesn't strike me as a Los Castillo piece and 151 isn't one of the marks they used.

Would have helped if I read the title. lol
Not likely Bell then. Sometimes doing a pencil rubbing with tracing paper makes the mark readable.

They didn't move to Taxco till 1941 so it's 41-48.
