Re: Is this ladle Scottish prvincial?
I have been doing a bit of research on this mark and have found a reference in Jackson's (p576) of an unidentified Glasgow maker G.S.B. I have been unable to find any images of this mark and was wondering if this may be a misascribed C.S.B instead. Has anybody seen or got a reference to an image of ...

Anybody recognise maker of this mote spoon?
Hi, Can anybody suggest a maker of this circa 1740 shell back mote spoon, double struck with a makers mark of WW? I have ruled out Exeter maker William Woodman as being too late, I am fairly certain it is a genuine piece and not a re-worked teaspoon etc. Many Thanks Martin http://img.photobucket.com...

Help needed to identify these marks
Hi I would be most grateful for any information on the the marks on this sugar bowl. It comes from a sugar bowl and stand and both pieces are identically marked, I am assuming continental but I am not really sure. Thanks Martin http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/supermezz/sug1_zpsfhhwi2gs.jpg ht...

Re: Is this ladle Scottish prvincial?
Thanks for the reply Trev, you might be on to something, however to me the style seems more British than other American ladles I have seen.

Re: Baffled With This Mark
The image is very small but it looks like it may be the letters BE separated by a diamond, if so this is the mark of French maker Maison Bloch Eschwege.

Is this ladle Scottish prvincial?
Hi I have this soup ladle finished in a typical fiddle pattern. It is marked with a makers mark only struck 3 times C.S.B. My initial thoughts are Scottish provincial but I may be completely wrong. Does anybody know who this maker is or where its origins might lie? Thanks Martin http://img.photobuck...

Makers mark on mote spoon
Hi, I know the marks on most mote spoons are often very difficult to decipher. However the maker's mark on this one is very clear "NO", but I am struggling to attribute a maker, does anyone have any ideas? Thanks Martin http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/supermezz/mote1_zpswrprup0t.jpg...

Hi,
The marks are quite worn, but I would hazard a guess at London 1891, the maker possibly Middleton Chapman.

Hi,
I would assume the 6.65oz mark refers to the weight of the tankard, if it was for fluid ounces this would be less than half a pint.

Hi,
I agree the date is 1779 but I think the maker may be Richard Morton, let's see what others think.

Hi Trev,
I believe this is another example of marking similar to a post I made recently viewtopic.php?f=7&t=44072
Although I can find no definitive proof, I am leaning towards Frech Colonial but I may be completely wrong
