Hi.
The left hand hand mark is the combined assay office town and quality mark.
The upper symbol is the Assay office, which, as far as I can tell from the two images shown
appears to be Alexandria while the lower symbol is the quality mark for 800/1000 silver.

Hi
The 2nd mark down is a Rose which is the Sheffield Assay Office Town Mark.
This replaced a Crown as the Town mark in 1975.

Re: Aaron Hadfield - help with marks
Hi.
I believe the mark A H * J H is the electroplate mark for Aaron Hatfield and Sons.
Whether Hatfield and Hadfield is the same sponsor I do not know.
What is the mark on the Handles ? A full set of Sheffield sterling marks?

Re: help with date and maker mark SE for birmingham ring
For just obtaining date marks there are a number of books to fit the pocket. The one I keep in the car is Pocket Edition Jackson's Hallmarks English, Scottish, Irish Silver and Gold Marks from 1300 to the Present Day. Edited by Ian Pickford. Published by The Antique Collectors Club. It has been regu...

Hi To me it would be a help if their were pictures of the items and marks as I am uncertain what you have. You may find all the information you need by going to the home page this site and checking both the Sheffield and Birmingham marks in the British Hallmarks section 1. The Rd No dates the item as...

Re: Daniel Low & Co. - Salem, Mass.
Just a comment on the Witch spoon : I have a Witch Coffee Spoon as per the Second Pattern - 1891 picture.
for information has the Gorham mark for last quarter 19th century.
Does anyone have information on the first pattern issued and if so a picture of it?

Re: Atkinson Bros. long knife ivorine (?) handle
Hi The set of hall marks pictured only relate to the ferrule between the handle and the blade. The blade would most likely be stainless steel. I cant help with the sponsor mark G.B, but the crown is Town mark for Sheffield, the Lion passant is the quality mark for Sterling silver and the last mark i...

Re: Please Help Me Identify This Tiffany UK Mark
Hi.
To me the year of manufacture is 1999, London the assay office.
I presume you either know this mark or have been previously told that it is Tiffany
so will not comment.

Re: Is it a fake?
Hi To me some of the marks look funny, although the sponsors mark appears to be Hilliard and Thomason it does look as though it has been over stamped with the same mark in one, and shaky in the other. Date letter 1868/9. The background for the town mark Birmingham is not as indicated in Hallmark poc...

Re: Need help-who is maker? Sterling ID bracelet
Hi. I cannot help with marks, but to me the bracelet looks likely to be an unmarked S O S bracelet , worn by some one who requires specific procedures or similar in an accident, with S O S on the outside and the name of the wearer and for example "DIABETES 2" or "I take WARFARIN"...

Re: Sterling Silver From China: Too Cheap To Be True?
I have a policy - I do not buy from online auctions as I cannot pickup the article and examine. "In room" auctions , particularly small auctioneers I will buy from but if marked only with 925 or 9K etc then I am not interested unless I can have a Jeweler verify. Asian I do not look at. Why...

Hi. My reading of the date letter would be w for 1896, although it is not really clear on the screen. The sponsors 2nd letter is even less clear and I am not sure whether it is an H or not, but if the sponser is T.H then I would put it down to Thomas Hayes. Could you advise what you think the 2nd le...

Hi The marks appear to be British import marks. Have a close look at the last mark which should be a Leopards head. The T. G is the importer who I believe would be Thomas Glaser, Lion Passant the Sterling mark, Q would be 1891, F for an imported item and my reading of the last mark would be a Leopar...

Just a wild guess - B E F assuming it is not owner initials, can it be anything to do with the British Expeditionary Force, whilst I don't think 1928 has any connection with a BEF, the front does have a military appearance although unmarked across the top where it appears to be left blank for engrav...

Hi You are right about it being British. Check closely the third mark from the left with the London Marks for 1805 as being the Leopards Head Crowned, as that is what it looks like to me . I assume the next mark is the Lion Passant. Sorry, can't help you with the maker but I expect one of our more k...
