Central letter is gothic "C" (like Canterbury) rather than "T" (like Thomae). Any new information on maker, age, etc. ?

Two shots of the wear point (bowl base at back) since so many discussions of plate and base metals revolve around these firms: https://i.postimg.cc/QtzQxnL0/image.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/G9wvv8mD/image.jpg Handle thickness increases as one moves toward center, going from 1 1/2mm tip to 3mm max, and...

Hall & Elton (Serif) Medallion-"Who Did It?"
Medallion Pattern has been established as Hall, Elton & Company of Wallingford at least 1867 to before International Silver lineage. But what of the maker marks in serif letters...are they Hall & Elton Geneva, H, E & Co. Wallingford, or International Silver Company (up to at least 1904.....

Re: Hall & Elton.
Additional note: There are several surviving on-line discussions of the differences between the two Hall & Elton companies and the parties involved, all of which reads in a confusion of mark samples both serif and sans serif. Apparently WEV has done some work to sort out much of this and lists p...

Re: Unknown European Tablespoons - P.G GC and Lion Passant
Ben, we had something recently also involving a similar lion-like mark. (Note apparent tongue and reversing tail here...not completely crude and slightly refined...not a gryphon/griffon, but a lion rampant or walking left.) Oel has eliminated the need to search one area. So, we may be looking along ...

The pattern above looks very similar to the so-named "Commodore Variation" of 1917. The Commodore and Biltmore were sister hotels in New York City (Manhattan proper).

Re: Hallmark & Name id help GMCo EPPAT.1916 Banquet Plate
The item pictured may have been used for commercial services and appears to have the type of uniquely elaborate "B" monograms used by one of the several Biltmore Hotel locations. Gorham's word mark "Banquet Plate" may be a reference to a level of plating supplied for banquet serv...

One on-line seller has a page from Graphic weekly during 1916 and mentions Camp Jacobs in the title...somehow prisoner of war related. Cannot read the text in the sole image to confirm anything. Not getting any other hits for this camp name.
