Hello, I bought this cofeepot but i find very little about the maker. Does anyone knows more about E.J. Buxton & co.? I was told that this pot was made around 1852 and 1899. I found the hallmarks later on this site!
The tray is from "Forbes Silver Co" U.S.A.
Now i like to find out aprox. how old my tray is...
It is decorated with Acanthus and shell's.

I have a pot very similar to yours,you can have a look if you go to:
Silverplate - Trademarks - Worldwide.
My post subjet was "Hammond, Creek & Co."
You will see that the lit is almost identical to yours, and the general look of the pot too.

I tried cold and hot vinaigre to clean it, but it doesn't seem to do the job.
I have another, perhaps to drastic way , and that is to use Amonia .
For now i leave it as it is, there might be somebody who have a better idee.
