Spoons 1790s

Please help me reading these hallmarks. Is "K" the maker or a town mark? Is it possible to identify "K"?

Re: Unknown Maker Mark Repousse Centerpiece Bowl

The maker is E.G. Webster & Son from Brooklyn/NY. On american silver you would expect the word "Sterling". As there is just the makers mark, that's an indication of a plated piece. It is copper, with a thin, worn coat of silver on it. Decorative, nevertheless.

It's 24,5 cm, in the style of an old english soup spoon.

Hamburg E Haegermann: Silver or Plated

This spoon has the Hamburg-hallmark, year "E", and the maker's mark "Haegermann". There is a weird discolouration along one rim of the handle. Is it a plated piece? Or was the Hamburg-hallmark only used for the 12 lot items?

Re: Spoons (ca 1800) city?

:) The spoons are from different years, so I posted several versions of the town- and maker's mark, but they got deleted. This mark was one of them. Thank you for the additional information, this was very helpful.

Spoons (ca 1800) city?

Yesterday I found 6 spoons at a fleamarket in Austria. Can you help me narrow down their origin? 1.) http://i.imgur.com/BU9gGwC.jpg http://i.imgur.com/nPpTw0e.jpg engraved 1787 (admin edit - only one item per topic - please start new threads with your other items - see Posting Requirements )

Bratislava 1808?

These hallmarks are on a tiny jug. Is it Bratislava 1808? What does the "K" stand for? And is it possible to identify "MT"?

Thank you!

Re: Austria 1891-1901: import mark + city

You all have been very helpful, thanks a lot! "The actual question" was if the AV+city was used pre or post the plain AV-hallmark. huszas76 posted an interesting image in another thread: http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=31066 https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg It looks lik...

I LOVE this site! I kind of found the answer in this thread. Sadly it's too small to read properly, but it's there:

Does the additional city-letter indicate an era/sequence of the import mark?

Austria 1891-1901: import mark + city

This hallmark is on a Russian spoon (1886). It looks like the Austrian "AV" import mark 1891-1901, but it's the first time I see it with an additional indication of the city (Vienna?).

When was it used?
What does AV even stand for?

Re: Berlin/Nürnberg/Hanau?

Thank you a lot! Silver is such an interesting topic, but it's surprisingly hard to even get a general overview. What reference book do you use/recommend? The makersmark is too worn to read properly, it could be II/D or II/R. So "II/?" is the maker, B the year, N for Nürnberg. Any idea abo...

Berlin/Nürnberg/Hanau?

This spoon bears four hallmarks, but I have no idea how to interpret them. Is it the Berlin-bear + B, the Nuremburg-N + maker? And why both? Are they pseudo-hallmarks? Where is it from? 21 cm, 36 g. http://i.imgur.com/m6rB5bJ.jpg On the left http://i.imgur.com/OlDDAZy.jpg On the right http://i.imgur...
