German Dish?
Can anyone help identify town and maker of this shell shaped dish. My initial thought was that it was from Augsburg as the one hallmark is an F below a 'pineapple'? But the stamp on the dish is shaped and the book I have shows the stamp as oval. The makers mark is CL. Many thanks John http://j.image...

Mystery marks?
Hi - can anyone help identify these marks. They are on a long slender handle fiddle pattern dessert fork. Could be Scottish with the long fiddle pattern handle? Or European? Many thanks John http://j.imagehost.org/t/0021/MVC-013F.jpg http://j.imagehost.org/t/0266/MVC-014F.jpg http://j.imagehost.org/...

Danish spoon ?
Can anyone help identify this tablespoon. I cannot make out the hallmark. The makers mark could possibly be HCH or HGH. There is prick dot engraving: Christian Michelsen 1801. Hi This fork is turning out to be a real mystery. It is actually one of a set of 6 that I have. They are unusually heavy and have a rigid feel to them which makes me think that they are cast. I know very little about the manufacturing process, but had always presumed that cast examples with sought a...

French ? box
Hi there I bought this little box today. It is 6 cm long, and has a pull off cover. I guess it is French because of the motto and the barrels. There are no hallmarks, but there are embossed initials D: S: F under the large barrel. It is silver and seems to be quite old. I would be happy if someone c...

Hi Gammel Thank you very much for the information. It is always satisfying to solve a silver puzzle especially when the silversmith is so well known. Unfortunately the coins are cut right into the tankard so impossible to remove them. This work with the coins is also unfortunately not very well done...
