Makers mark IP could be Johann Peißker or Jakob Pauly.
Letter D could be ca. 1704/5

Hi, Berlin around 1809. FW ; Prussian tax duty/levy mark. The Prussian levy mark used between 1809-1812 for older & used silver objects on which a tax of approx. 33% was paid. With this tax, the Prussians financed their war reparations to France. Maker's mark CV perhaps for Carl Vogel. Let us wa...

Re: Kassel Immaculata frame
It is indeed confusing. The letters are not known in this form and it looks as if the A was subsequently stamped. The rest of the BZ is also unusual and a HI or IH brand is not yet known. It is quite possible that these marks were later applied to this mirror and have nothing to do with the manufact...

Re: 18th Nuremberg silver cup ?
Concerning your bowl I had contacted Professor Richter, who thereupon had collected interesting information about the bowl. He is readily prepared to pass on these results - but not to an anonymous person. Professor Richter would like to know to whom these information will be passed.

Re: 18th Nuremberg silver cup ?
I think I was able to decipher the content of this scene. My first thought was that it would be Holy Communion, but apparently there are also women sitting at this table, so I had to quickly dismiss this thought. Then I thought of a holy Passover, with the sacrificial lamb on the table, but I had to...

Re: 18th Nuremberg silver cup ?
In order to get certainty about the authenticity of your object it is absolutely necessary to perform a scientific examination of the bowl. The knowledge of the elemental composition of the silver may answer the question: is the bowl an authentic object of the early 17th century or an imitation of t...

Re: 18th Nuremberg silver cup ?
You shouldn't do anything here. You can destroy a lot there. It is better to do nothing than to do something wrong.
Only a very specialized expert can do that.
