Re: Austrian Sugar Tongs

Hello Bahner, thank you very much for your answer. I have to explain the pics. The dog-head mark bears 3 = 800 and P = Budapest, which is not recognizable on the photo. The maker's mark bears a not discernible letter than an anvil and the letter M. Is there any literature where one could find this m...

Mocha Spoons Rokoko

Hi all, I couldn't find out the maker of my probably cast but very fine-made mocha spoons. Does anybody know the maker's mark. Hi kevalie,
I think Ubaranda is right. The unicorn is - without any doubt - the mark of Gebrüder Kühn. SR or SK at the end might be a retailer.

Re: Help with these maeks

The upper left mark CLC (or G) is the maker's mark (Francais will know), the mark down left is Paris Maison Commune 1784 (there must be the number 84) and the mark down right is the Charge mark Paris from 1783 on.

Re: Continental Silver Hallmark?

Hello Tokkoloshe,
the mark besides the name "JEPTHIEN" ? is the mark of Splieth, Itzehoe in Schleswig-Holsten, which is not far from Rendsburg.
See German marks after 1886.

Re: Unidentified German Makers' Marks

Hello Tom, on Monday Dec 23, 2013 I posted that the 19th mark (S with star) is E.Spitzbarth, Zürich. It still remains in Unidentified Objects!? Another correction: A.C.Franke is A.C.Frank without e. The just discovered mark of Josef Reiner is still lacking in German Hallmarks (see posts of R ingo f...

Re: unknown DERRIEY mark

Hi Ringo,
I think it is Geneva. If there is a 3 on top of the head, it is 800/1000 silver. Look Tardy 5th edition english language (2005 reprint) p. 394.

Hi Trevor,
I saw that variation of the mark as a drawing by myself in my files, but I don't remember where I found it.
The 4 digits I think read 800S.
