John Scofield worked 1776-1790. His work is much more sophisticated than the spoons shown.
John Swift is shown in Jackson's book as well [dot not star] but identical letters and background stamp shape. A more likely candidate.

assist with mark and function

Does anyone recognize the maker's mark on this piece? What would the function of this unusual shaped piece be? http://images7.pictiger.com/thumbs/6f/772172d67d745667efcd29576629436f.th.jpg http://images7.pictiger.com/thumbs/fe/fac0adaac233bec11f6ee25d51dd91fe.th.jpg http://images7.pictiger.com/thumb...

book on French makers marks

Does anyone have or know of a book that contains known makers marks of the 19th century in France. I found a fine mid 19th century brooch marked with those tiny French marks but only the right hand letter of the maker is readable. It is a capitol R or K . http://images3.pictiger.com/thumbs/aa/1d61a8...

In any case, it is a beautiful ornate design.

This is an Ice Hockey trophy, hand hammered, 1948. I have no reference on German makers to identify maker.
