Hello,
This is indeed Iranian. A date 3/1998 is written beside the 84 stamp and written are the words "Tabriz", a city in Iran " Wakutib" The second word could be the maker's name.

need help with this hallmark, Iraq or Iran 19th century?

This tray is about 15X12 in size. No idea on the hallmark. So I will admit the hallmark is a bit worn but any help would be great.

... kept using the 84 type marks even after the Russian empire fell since they had nothing to replace it with. For example I have seen items from Iran ( Persia ) with 84 marks made in the 1920s. Thus finding an 84 mark in Syrian would not surprise me. I would suggest looking up some of the history ...

I do not believe that date marks were used in Iran. The right hand mark would be the maker's mark or location (ie. Isfahan).

Iran heve just been tested. We had 8 visitors (where I work) so I printed the picture - they asked "what language is it?" - so we are not anywhere in that region.

It is from Iran, 20th century. The mark left of 84 is 84 in Arabic. I think, but am not sure, that the large oval mark says Isfahan.

... well for Farsi script), the maker's mark is for one of the Parvaresh family in Isfahan. Although 84 is the most common silver standard in 20th C. Iran, the mark that looks like "90" probably is 90 for the silver standard. Regards, Tom

Hallmark help on oval tray Iran ?

I am a russian speaker: above the Two Headed Russian Imperial Eagle
there is an inscription Tovarishtchestvo(Society) on the left and Kompanija(Company) on the right-the latter partially rubbed. The dates confirm that the wares originate from old Tsarist Russia. I hope that it helps.

I have these 6 oval trays that are brass and appear to have some silverplate remaining on them. I believe they are from Iran. Can anyone help identify this mark? Thanks! Help with Persian Hallmark

I have a silver box (tested positive for silver) that I believe comes from Iran. The only mark anywhere is the Lion holding a curved sword. Does anyone recognize this mark? http://www3.filehost.to/files/2007-03-17_03/205454_Box1.JPG http://www3.filehost.to/files/2007-03-17_03/205907_Box3.JPG

This is a cigarette box from Iran, probably Isfahan as they commonly used birds in their artistry. It should be silver all the way through, no doubt, hand carved. The name of the artist is stamped on it. It says Fetkhal, not a familiar name. Hope that's helpful

... actually beautifully engraved. It's quite easy to discern the origin and maker. It has the name "Rida" written on it, a silversmith from Isfahan Iran. I'm not sure as to the period he worked, nevertheless, this is an Iranian, Isfahani peice. .800 silver content. Regards, Hada

You have a bracelete made from natural pieces of turquoise that are collected together and bound with a natural vegetarian paste. The one hallmark can be read as MESH-Hed which is a city in Iran. This is an Iranian piece.
