Need Help in Identifying Maker of Gold Pin & Ring Set

the two-tone gold is quite sophisticated European styling; stones are most likely citrine but could be something else-- anyone interested in jewelry should note that the picture is so clear, and the stone so well-cut, that you can tell it is a cut gemstone and not a molded or poured glass stone.

Tracing works by Ellis Palmer

I am wondering whether anyone has a brooch-sculpture, ring or necklace by the British jeweller Ellis Palmer (d. 1998) as I am trying to trace the remainder of her works. While there is a book about her, a number of her works still are in the wind. I would like to obtain photos or other documentary e...

Need Help in Identifying Maker of Gold Pin & Ring Set

This is possibly the work of Marcel Boucher, who operated a high-quality costume jewelry company but also produced gold work, some of it sold by Tiffany.

The numbers look like Boucher inventory numbers and if this is Boucher, it dates from 1949

Who's the Maker of: SILVER 950 Cross w/ Birds carved on back

This is a silver forum but re your thoughts on amethyst: unlikely as it is set in a closed or inaccessible back (gems usually but not always are set in open backs) take the piece to an intense light source, move it slowly all around so that you get a good look at the facets thru your magnifying glas...

early american tankard?

I personally do not have any books about S. American forms to recommend to you. However, I seem to recall a rather hefty Kovels book about American forms - of furniture, silver cups, flatware, decoration etc - but the title escapes me. I'm sure you'll be able to find it thru your library. (I don't t...

As to whether it was made by Grimke, I can't say with authority, especially at this remove. How...

International Sterling Indian's moveable feather

The American manufacturers' section on this site depicts the Indian in profile with his feather downward at about 45 degrees as well as standing out at about 90 degrees. http://www.925-1000.com/americansilver_I.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Has anyone seen the Indian with his f...

Haller and Rathemau spoon

Re Berliner Goldschmiede - though U of T does not usually lend the book you may be able to get it through the InterLibrary Loan Service - they send the book to your library but you won't be able to take it home. Expect to pay postage. Failing that, most libraries are very amenable when it comes to p...

put the red part against your face. If it is cold it is some sort of stone; if it is room- or body-temperature it is either cinnabar (though it does not seem so, given that there is no indication of multiple layers) or composite/plastic

Early american Tankard?

"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy." . . or, in this case, your hopes for a silver find. One of the largest areas of silver is of 'faking-reproducing-reinterpreting' and, while it is too early to say so in your case, given that we ha...

SILVER HALLMARKS PLEASE TRY AND HELP..

the location of the marks suggests a Continental origin - perhaps Austrian? While this site's Austrian hallmark http://www.925-1000.com/foreign_marks.html shows the woman's head in a lobate punch, it has at other times been in a five- or six-sided mark that does resemble a box with the corners cut off

it is always better to post the picture. Before you do, though, edit it so that
the marks are clearly legible, there is no glare from flash, and you have cropped away the excess.

I have an 18th C gold ring which has a so far undeciphered hallmark on the bottom outside of the shank

Any ideas? I have tried to reproduce as faithfully as possible the letters and the woman's head.
