Does anyone know if A Keim, Phila. is a retailer or maker of this Civil War era ladle? The engine turned design is so similar to James Watts and the bright cutting is like Geo. Sharp. All input would be appreciated. TIA http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a19/butterball2/th_keim.jpg http://i8.photobuck...

Apparently a copy of original shapes exists out there as I found the same figure on one page of the tea knives[fig. F], but no butter or fruit ...
Pat, your help was terriffic as all of about 30 pieces found were each marked with only half of the L making it to appear as an I. With your help I located the pattern name, CELSA TRENZA . Thanks again

your charm most likely started life attached to an English chain with complete hallmarks on one part and 15ct on most individual parts/links etc. When removed you saw only one marking. IMHO .
Thanks for the input but the mark on the silver is not theirs. BB&B sold and I have handled many dozens of their silver products with their name clearly stamped along with the makers mark of such firms as Dominic & Hoff and Gorham and several others. Only the leather was stamped with BB&...
made in lizard or snake for Bailey, Banks & Biddle, Phil. with pictured marks. Who was the silver maker? http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a19/butterball2/th_wallet003.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a19/butterball2/th_wallet005.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a19/butterball2/th_wallet0...
John Scofield worked 1776-1790. His work is much more sophisticated than the spoons shown. John Swift is shown in Jackson's book as well [dot not star] but identical letters and background stamp shape. A more likely candidate. .
