Dear Forum, Who can tell me more about this particular silversmith mark of George Richmond Collis and the gothic characters, which read like EPCS, is it for electro plated copper? Does anybody recognize the Coat of Arms? I welcome all comment. Thanks very much. For pictures: http://m1.freeshare.us/...
Thanks I think, according to Tardy page 47; this city mark of Stuttgart has been used between 1700/60. The box is a good example of rococo style chased work and bright cut engraving. I do hope we can find the name of the silversmith with the maker’s mark IP
Please could anyone confirm if the ‘racing horse’ mark is indeed the correct city mark for Stuttgart used in the mid 18TH century? If so good anyone identify the maker’s mark IP See pictures.
Thanks all of you, under the wrappings of the internal pieces is air, hollow. The wrappings are stiff and hard, like sand paper and reach to the bottom of the etui. The internal piece without the silver tip has traces of sealing wax.
Merry Christmas Who could tell me were this silver case was used for? The case has been made by Nathaniel Mills and contains two instruments. Both instruments are paper made; one has a silver tip hallmarked. Regards, Peter http://aycu28.webshots.com/image/36947/2000134928246621546_rs.jpg http://aycu...
