Re: Augsburg dish.

Hi Gábor, Is it possible to clean all the marks and after show us some clear enhanced images of the marks? The high quality of the dish is obvious but without clear images of all marks it is impossible to judge, pseudo or not. The best thing would be to ask professional advise of an renowned expert....

Re: Augsburg dish.

OK Gábor, and I guess the antique shop did not mentioned the name of Neresheimer.

To my knowledge Augsburg applied the town mark only once and not twice on a single object. Why two Austrian Repunze tax exemption marks on a single object without removable/hinged parts?

Re: Augsburg dish.

Hi Gábor,

If I understand it correctly you bought this dish at auction, and the description of the auction house stated; made by Neresheimer?

Yes, Ag2012 is right again, I found a similar dish made, indeed by Neresheimer: https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/800x600q90/923/wDwluw.jpg DISQUE AVEC LE SPECTACLE DU COMBAT DE SAMSON AVEC LE LION Hanau, Neresheimer & Sons, fin du XIXe s. Argent, ciselé. D. 16,4 cm, 134 g. Poinçonné avec les m...

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/800x600q90/923/igD5hw.jpg I agree, the Augsburg, to me looks correct for around 1695 ( Marc Rosenberg). As far as I can see, Neresheimer has not used this particular type of Augsburg mark. Indeed a rare find. Peter. Source; Marc Rosenberg Der Goldschmiede Merkzeic...

Re: Early Makers mark with anchor- not Birmingham?

Hi, welcome to the forum. Are there no other marks, only one mark? If this is the only mark, it is indeed a maker' s mark. Why do you think it is made in Britain (Birmingham)?
Please show us an image of the whole object and tell us some more about its provenance.

Re: Cutlery case

Hi Amena, Could you be so kind to show us some images of all the marks as they appear on the cutlery. An image of the marks on the spoon (unedited) so we can see the layout. For orientation of the year letter which is often misaligned. Theoderich has never seen this type of Dresden year letter befor...

Hi Amena, it is not an A, believe it to be a D for 1833 but let us wait for Theoderich to confirm.

Best,

Peter

Re: Austrian Silver Art Nouveau Tray Date ID

I believe I recognize the Austro-Hungary Diana head with crescent moon, the frame shape for silver 800/000. Used 1872-1922. However it also could be for Hungary 1919-1937. The maker's mark is unknow to me but the forum has some very good and knowledgeable contributors who probably can help you out. ...
