Help needed with spoon hallmark plse

This is what we think is a silver spoon my wife found yesterday whilst we were out metal detecting. I have tried to look up the marks myself. The CH could be Charles Hougham, last quarter 18c, the date letter looks like an 'h' so if I am right this would make it 1783/84, however the hallmark book we...

Suffolk Regiment Silver Badge, Lion hallmark only

This is a silver Army badge my wife found recently when detecting in an English field, the condition is pretty much how it was dug up. It only has one hallmark (?) on it which is a lion, I am unsure about what the single mark means, is it just to indicate its silver and if so is there no way to tell...

It would be better to post a couple of photgraphs in the British Sterling section so that a new thread can be started, as when looking at marks other factors come into play,
Regards Trev.

Carling, certainly looks much the same with the exception that the final S is underlined, I guess thats what you mean by the undocumented mark.

Thank you for the information. I am new on here, is there anyone who I should inform that I have a possible previously undocumented mark?

Trev, I know this will sound rather stupid but I mistook the lion passant (in my ignorance) for the letter 'M', I can now see what it is, you are right, chester, the last letter is hard to make out but I am reasonably certain is an S, this would make it 1943/44 as before 1889 was 4 marks and the let...

I will have to try cleaning the hallmark area and do another scan as its been really hard trying to get this section to scan clear. I though the shield shape mark with the 3 dots in made it Swedish, I have got this wrong?

Silver Brooch badge found recently when detecting in an English Field, have checked the file on this site but the hallmarkings do not seem to match what is recorded here, would be nice to find out how old this is. Many thanks. http://www1.filehost.to/files/2007-03-21_01/000452_BROOCHHALLMARK1.jpg ht...
