WHEN Gorham used "Gorham sterling"

I've been wondering about Terrioz' question, too. Thanks, Kit, for simplifying the issue. Does anyone know WHEN Gorham used "Gorham sterling" alone--no anchor, lion, G--to mark flatware? This would really help me date some of my pieces.

Hopefully, Nina

P on Gorham flatware

My questions were posted to this query (not the one I was trying to reply to), so my first question is answered--Thanks, Patrick. My second question stands: what's the P? Appreciatively, Nina

T and P on Gorham flatware

Aha--Finally I know what the T in the diamond means! Does anyone know what "trade" connotes--that is, why a piec would be identified this way? Also, I've seen a P in a diamond on Gorham pieces--what does THAT mean? Thank you, everyone.

Thanks for responding, Pat. To be more specific, I was wondering whether one of the maker's marks (probably the Hauber) was faked in the picture--since the other marks are clearly from the same photo. What do you think?

Identical hallmark pix

On the German Hallmarks after 1886 page, the marks photographed for Hugo Böhm and Gustav Hauber are literally identical except for the maker’s marks. As someone still in the early learning stages about silver, what should I make of this? Thanks for your time.

Hi Tom,
Yes--with your information I found a clear picture on the net of the mark, identifying it as from Otto Kaltenbach. One site said OKA operated as a separate firm 1921-67.
Appreciatively,

Hi Bahner,
Appreciate your help! I've looked at the British plate marks on this site--is there a site with other countries' plate marks?
Thanks again,
Abel

Thanks MLF,
I did look at the page earlier, and it has one similar set of marks ending 800 KA, but my piece definitely shows 800 OKA--and it's so precise it doesn't look like a mistake. I appreciate you taking the time...

German sterling or plate--...800 OKA?

I'd appreciate your help, as I'm trying to become knowledgeable about silver in general--including how to distinguish it from silver plate (better late than never). I researched German sterling, but can't find anything exactly like this, and since the marks are so tiny and seem engraved rather than ...

Upright anchor with letters A & F...and more...Please he

I'm trying to become knowledgeable about silver in general, including how to distinguish it from silver plate. Can anyone identify these marks? One is an upright anchor with A to the left of the top crossbar & F to right, as well as the number 1 inside the left curve of the anchor bottom & 2...
