Hi Oel, I can image that the spoon looks new to you with the pictures I took. I made some new pictures. Indeed, it could be something else than Sneek. Maybe that's the reason I looked in the wrong direction. Maybe it's not even Dutch. I can usure you that the spoon isn't new. The Gabriel engraving a...
Hi, This nice fish server is probably German. Weight: 145 gr.; lenght: 38,9 cm; wide: 10,1 cm. My guess is around 1800-1820. I haven't been able to find the city (and the maker). Maybe somebody knows? egards, Zilverik http://i41.tinypic.com/9u0k0j.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/11qke8j.jpg
Hi, I wasn't able to find the maker of this big spoon from Kopenhagen. Weight 145 gr. ; lenght: 30,5 cm; wide: 6,6 cm. The small mark on the left is the Dutch control mark (ZII) for re-entering the market. Maybe somebody knows? Regards, Zilverik http://i41.tinypic.com/2ugpcn8.jpg http://i39.tinypic....
This is a big spoon (breilepel) from Sneek, Friesland. Weight: 226 gr.; lenght: 38,9 cm; wide: 8,3 cm. I wasn't able to find the master. Maybe somebody can?
Pseudomarks because there should be a dateletter in the Augsburg-mark. Only the very early Augsburg-marks don't have dateletters. And accoding to the style this candlestick isn't that early.
Hi, This travelpowderset I bought in Paris long ago. That is why I think it is French. There is only one mark that I couldn't dentify, but it looks 18e century French to me. The whole set can be dismanteld into different parts. The one end is just a little bit wider than the other end. Very ingenius...
Hi Dognose and Oel, Thank you very much. I am sorry that I didn't find it myself. I could have because there where items from Wang Hing before on the forum. My mistake was that I had the idea that it was probably Japanese from the Meiji period. The florals on the vase look very much like from that p...
Hi, This is a nice vase I bought at auction long ago from a known collection. Good quality; cut card technique (the flowers are casted and then soldered on the body); heavy: 318 gramms; high 14 cm. Could also be Chinese. I don't know. Around 1900 (Meiji?) I guess. Anyone knows the country and/or mas...
Hi, I have a better photo now and more information. My interpretation before was a mistake. Maybe this helps to find the name of the maker (or the name of the "veuve"). Marks: A italics with crown = assaymaster; crown with A capital of Paris. Makersmark: Left: V; Right: C; Under: P. Above:...
Hi, This is a nice Italian castor.Weight: 103 gr.; high: 8,8 cm, diameter: 4,9 cm. All the marks are there (Veneto?) .800. The mastermark is very clear and yet I wasn't able to find him. Maybe someone knows him this maker? Regards, Zilverik http://i41.tinypic.com/289alwk.jpg http://i43.tinypic.com/x...
Thank you for looking into these marks. The 18e century marks aren't to be found in Le Poincon des Provences Francaises (J. Helft). Yet it isn't Paris. It would be a miracle that someone knows these provincial marks.
Thank you very much! Now I understand the good quality of the jug. Savary et Fils was the successor of Ravinet d'Enfert, I just read (in Dictionairre de Poincons d'Orfevrerie edite par Paris-Bijoux S.A.).
Hi, This is a big waterkettle on stove, total weight 2.214 gramms, high 44,5 cm. Marks for Austria. And a Dutch control mark for re-entering the market (ZII) Makersmark I.F Wrana? Or is the other mark the master? What is that other mark if it is not the master? Regards, Zilverik http://i39.tinypic.c...
Thank you very much Theoderich! And I am glad that my idea that it could be Hamburg appears to be right. That you could find the master is very special. Even in Schefflers book, Goldschmiede Niedersachsens, the mark shown is not compleet. And yet it is obvious. Great!
