Re: marrow scoop from Russia?

Hi Zolotnik and Qrt.S, Thank you very much. Great to know the maker as Paul Sohlman. For me it fits that he makes things like a cigarette box and a marrow scoop. I have no doubts that the marrow scoop is authentic unless the cigarette box is suspicious as well. So the ridiculous question comes to mi...

Re: marrow scoop from Russia?

Hi, Two more photo's could maybe of help? The mark of the master is very small. It looks like a "P" dot cyrillic "E" (180°different) or "E" dot cyrillic "P" upside down. The quality of the marrow scoop is good. It's not heavy but simple and functional. The sc...

Re: marrow scoop from Russia?

Hi Zolotnik,

Thank you very much. This date surprises me. The form of the marrow scoop looks more like 1920 to me. Sort of Art Deco form. Could this form fits the makers time?

Re: Eagle and key?

Hi Theoderich,

Maybe the backside of this spoon gives a clue. The way the handle is attached and especially the arms. Who was the owner and in what city did he lived?

Regards,

Zilverik

Dutch marrow scoop

Hi, This is a Dutch marrow scoop with difficult marks. Weight 25 gramms, lengh 19 cm. To see is an interesting part of an eagles wing on one mark. Maybe Middelburg? The dateletter Q. The "trembleersteek" (for testing the silveramount, on the left), the crowned O (taxmark 1807 for old work)...

Marrow scoop from where?

Hi, This marrow scoop has marks that I can't identify. Weight 58 gramms; lenght 22 cm. 3 marks. One mark looks like a French "contremarque du sousfermier" ± 1738 Chateau-Thierry-Eperney. Or is it Italian? Than there is a crowned mark with 6 points and another mark (on the right) that is a...

Very old fork? It's master?

Hi, This old fork has a good engraving. Looks even 17e century to me. I can't make out the marks. I thought about Friesland, the Netherlands. It could maybe also be Germany or Scandinavian. Hi, This is a nice bowl. Probably Japanese. Weight 465 gr.; high: 27 cm; high: 3 cm. The makersmark is in Japanese. Who could it be? When did he worked? Is there a message around the makersmark? Sorry for my fingerprint in the photo of the marks. Regards, Zilverik http://i42.tinypic.com/1ze813l.jpg ...

Re: Maker of this big spoon from Sneek?

Hi Oel,

The form of the spoon is not mid 17e century. Probably 18e century but not much older.
This Munchen master is for me to early. Did he made this sort of flatware?

Re: Maker of this big spoon from Sneek?

Hi Oel, You are right, it's not Sneek. I looked for the mark (the 3 sausages) in Rosenberg ("Himmelkörper","Heroldstücke") and Tardy. I could't find it there. The bulls head I couldn't find either. So, no lead at all accept for the form of the spoon, the Christian engraving and...
