Can anyone identify this crest on a James Scott Dublin spoon, c1829? Thanks! http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/24500655/412048499.jpg http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/24500655/412048500.jpg http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/24500655/412048501.jpg

Re: Matching Cream & Sugar - different marks?

Thanks for your quick response. I think that mark is missing from the London marks. I searched and couldn't find it. Am I wrong?

Matching Cream & Sugar - different marks?

This creamer and sugar are an obvious pair; they both have the same heraldic symbol. The difference is in the marks. The creamer has the mark of Daniel and Charles Houle, London 1877. The sugar bowl has an illegible maker's mark (W and a second letter which may be I, P or T?). The year mark is 1802....

Re: 18th Century Sugar Tongs marked Walsh

I'm always happy to share new marks for this forum. I will surely have more in the coming weeks as I settle a huge estate from multiple ancestors who had lots of silver. -Adam

Re: 18th Century Sugar Tongs marked Walsh

I am definitely a collector but I am also settling my family's estate and anything that does not add to my collection I am giving to a seller to sell for me. I saw the Walsh attribution on this site and just wanted to confirm if I was correct. I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

Re: London Hallmark for 1806 but no maker's mark

Thank you. This is part of my family's silver, so I have no idea about it. If it is a Chinese export, when was this a common practice?

London Hallmark for 1806 but no maker's mark

Curious why this wouldn't have any maker's marks? Clearly has London sterling marks for 1806. Thanks!

Norwegian 830 Silver Tea Caddy Spoon - maker?

I believe this is Norwegian silver. It is marked with the initials F and I, intertwined and a butterfly. Couldn't find this mark on the site. Does anyone know who this is? Also, it is about 4 inches long. I assume it is a tea caddy spoon? Thanks all. http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/245...

Re: Garrards Georgian sterling chamberstick - date?

My latest group of silver is actually from my grandparents. It's been put away for a long time and I am finally getting around to opening it. Found some nice surprises in there! Very fortunate!

The weight is concentrated in the base.

18th Century Sugar Tongs marked Walsh

Am I correct in assuming these were made by Stephen Walsh in Cork, Ireland in the second half of the 18th Century? http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/24500655/411995211.jpg http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/24500655/411995210.jpg http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1201/4557023/2...

Can't begin to know where or when these marks are from. I assume British but I really don't know. What do these marks mean? I assume L'pool is Liverpool?
